The pilots of US Airways flight 1549, the airliner that miraculously landed safely on the Hudson river, will be back together in the cockpit on Thursday. It has been over eight months since the incident, which took place on January 15, when Sullenberger and Skiles piloted the aircraft for a safe landing on the Hudson River in New York City.
Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles will fly the same flight they were supposed to: New York-LaGuardia to Charlotte-Douglas, NC. This will be the first flight for Sullenberger as Captain of a US Airways flight since the miracle on the Hudson. Skiles has been back flying for the carrier since April.
Sullenberger recently finished a book, “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters,” with co-author Jeffrey Zaslow. I know I’ll be reading this soon, and from what I hear, it will be a good book. The book will hit shelves this coming October.

It’s amazing how something big happens in your life and the next thing you know, you have books written about you. Pretty cool stuff.
