Jonathan Heckman is the founder and editor of JetCheck.net. He is currently an undergraduate student attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL where he is working on a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major in Air Transportation and Management. Jonathan hopes to land somewhere in the aviation industry following college. He is a FAA certificated private pilot and primarily flies the Diamond Eclipse (DA20-c1) but hopes to one day find himself in the cockpit of a P-51 Mustang.
Aside from aviation, Jonathan’s interests include skiing, film-editing, and watching Phillies baseball.
Jonathan is open to pursuing internship and co-op opportunities in the airline, airport, and aircraft manufacturing industries.

Prior to the name Aviation Buzz, the blog was entitled “An Aviator’s Blog.” An Aviator’s Blog began in July of 2008 as a summer project for Jonathan. From July to mid-November 2008, it was solely under the domain of http://jonathanheckman.com. Aviation Buzz was founded in mid-November of 2008. Since the overall blog start-up in the summer of 2008, it has grown significantly in: hits per day, features, and overall audience / recognition.
In early March 2010, Aviation-Buzz.com became JetCheck.net, reflecting the name of Jonathan’s blog at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The blog is syndicated with seattlepi.com.
